Adjunct Faculty – Philosophy/Ethics – Danville

Averett University is seeking part time faculty to develop and teach, on an as-needed basis, undergraduate courses in “Introduction to Philosophy” and “Ethics.”  Class will be held two days a week at the main campus in Danville, starting with the fall 2019 term.


Candidates must hold a masters’ degree or higher with at least 18 graduate credit hours in coursework related to philosophy and ethics.  Experience teaching at the college level preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and teach assigned courses in the traditional undergraduate program, and the full range of associated duties:  creating a course syllabus; preparing course material; presenting course material during assigned meeting time; grading assignments; and posting attendance and grades.

Secondary Responsibilities

Respond to student emails and providing appropriate out-of-class time to support students.
