Students in ES 209, Re-training the Off-the-Track Thoroughbred, will demonstrate their mounts’ progress at a showcase on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. – noon at Melrose Farm in Blanch, N.C. (2305 NC Highway 62 North). The class, in conjunction with BlueBloods Thoroughbreds, has been working with former racehorses to retrain them for adoption as pleasure mounts. The eight students in the class were each assigned a mount to work with throughout the semester in hopes of seeing them adopted. The basic training the horses have received gives them a solid base for further training in whatever discipline their new owner decides upon. All are welcome to attend this event!
