A Warm Averett Welcome Is Extended To:
Tim Coston ’15, Assistant Area Director of Fugate and Main Building, who joins the Office of Residence Life. Tim worked with Residence Life as a Resident Assistant for three years before graduating in the spring with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. While attending Averett, Tim was an ever-present figure in the residence halls and at the North Campus, where he performed as an athlete on the baseball team. Please help us welcome Tim back to our Averett family!
Taylor Mahaffey ’15, Assistant Coordinator of Student Engagement. Taylor comes to us with a degree in Marketing Management and a minor in Coaching. She will serve as a fantastic member of the Student Life team, and more specifically the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. She was a four-year softball player here at Averett, and a three-time captain of the team. The team won a conference championship during her senior year. She is very excited to begin the process of achieving her next goal of graduating with her MBA in Marketing. Taylor is ready to hit the ground running and can’t wait to work alongside her colleagues at Averett.

Thank You
Dear Averett Family,
Thank you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your condolences and inspirational messages allow us to remember my sister, Anne, as the generous spirit that she was; and as someone who will continue to be a special person in our hearts and memories.
Sincerely,
Kathie Tune and Family
Student Accolades
The Student Life Department began recognizing students who go the extra mile in whatever they are doing on campus last fall. Each week during Student Life staff meetings, staff members nominate students they want to recognize for their dedication to AU. Students are notified about the nomination and their chance to win a $50 Visa Gift Card. At the end of the semester, all of the names of those nominated are put into a bowl and the name of one lucky student is selected. This is the department’s way of letting the students know they appreciate all they do.
This week we would like to recognize Ashley Rutledge, Jeremiah Smith, Carter Jones, Charles Bryant, Deontae Pannell, John Matrisciano, Josh Hatcher, Isaac York, Ja’Stiyha Daniels, Amani Ajayi, Marcus Terry, Ja’Corey Burley, Treshaun Clayton and Clifton Glover.
We would also like to recognize the Week to Engage project leaders. They are Angelica Orlikowski, Katey Holley, Lexi Sollars, Lindsey Fulcher, Frida Lundquist, Allie Crouse, Jordan Palma, Ricky Roman, Mitchell Smith, Hannah Shields, Brittany Daley, Ryne Gammon, Blair Bolton, Hannah Glover, Damion Bishoff, Bradley Hedges, Jasmine Lipscomb, Maurice Thomas, Kamrin Johnson, Ashley Rutledge, Moustafa Nassar and Annalies Jobsis.
