Phone System Changes

PhoneOn Monday, Oct. 3, temporary changes made to the phone system over the summer will become permanent. These changes will allow us to reduce the number of phone trunk lines needed, making the system more efficient and cost-effective.

The dialing “rules” created over the summer will continue to apply, with the exception of a leading “1” will no longer be needed for long distance, just the 10-digit phone number. So, to call the DanView restaurant, you would dial “9 434 793 3552.” If your tastes are a little more far flung, to make a reservation at the Space Needle Restaurant, you would dial “9 800 937 9582,” and for that special place to park your van along the river, you would dial “9 336 427 8530” for Dan River Campground information.

Dialing “8” for an outside line will be disabled at the end of business on Friday, Oct. 14. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the IT department.
