Fourth of July Holiday plus One…

Hear ye! Hear ye! Good news! According to the Town Crier, so that everyone can have more time to enjoy their July 4 holiday with family and friends, Friday, July 5, this year will be a paid holiday for full-time staff. So enjoy the extra-long weekend and if you would like to brush up on your American history, click here!

Millennium Advisors Available for Questions and Financial Advice

Millennium advisors are planning to be available for virtual consultations and phone calls throughout the summer to assist with financial planning for retirement. Feel free to call or schedule an appointment through their scheduling link. It is a link that individuals can use to schedule a 15-30 minute phone appointment with an advisor. Parks and Rec Points

Danville Parks and Recreation provides outdoor program opportunities throughout the summer. Employees enrolled in the wellness program can receive points for participating in kayaking, hiking, ropes courses and paddle boarding activities. Points for these activities will be rewarded after attesting to participation through the wellness portal- located in the “Course Categories” drop-down menu on the main dashboard under “Custom Programs.” More information will be coming regarding how fitness classes provided can be worth points, too!

Goodbye and Thank You to Nancy Clark

Nancy Clark, senior student financial service counselor, is retiring and her last day with Averett is tomorrow, June 27. If folks would like to say thank you and goodbye, please stop by her office. She would love to se you! We want to thank Nancy for her dedication and time here at Averett. Nancy has been with us for 20 years!

Mallo Presents at National Nurse Practitioner Conference

Averett’s School of Nursing Dr. Ryan Mallo, associate professor and program director for the Nurse Practitioner Programs, along with Dr. Pomarico-Denino of Fitzgerald Health Education Associations, presented at the national conference for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners on Friday, June 21, in Indianapolis, Ind. The presentation was titled “What You Were Not Taught In School: Gendered Approaches to Primary Healthcare.”

“My motivation behind getting my MBA is to help drive my career and grow professionally and personally. My family has always strived for me to pursue my dreams and be the best version of myself I can be. They taught me to never stop learning. I hope to one day be in upper management in the nursing field.”
