Millennium Advisors Returning

Millennium Advisory Services will be at Averett on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 9 and 10, to meet individually with interested employees. The appointment scheduler will be available soon. The Booksellers Conference Room and the Round Room will be the venues for their 1:1 meetings.

A financial advisor will be available to meet with employees who are interested in:
• Reviewing any questions pertaining to the Averett retirement plan and their retirement account
• Going through Millennium’s financial planning process offered to all employees
• Reviewing and updating a financial plan that has previously been created for you
• Retaining Millennium for professional fee-based asset management of their retirement plan account(s)

Millennium Advisory Services is a registered investment advisory firm that specializes in working with higher education institutions and their employees, providing education and advice services to retirement plan participants.

All Averett employees are offered the opportunity to meet privately with an advisor to go through Millennium’s financial planning process and receive a personalized financial plan. This goal-based financial planning process is intended to help provide guidance on issues such as how much you should be saving for retirement, how your retirement account should be invested, and whether you are on track to reach your personal retirement goals. Housekeeping Updates and Protocols

As you’ve heard, Budd Group recently made some account management changes within Averett’s housekeeping team. Jeff Hubbard has transitioned to Roanoke to manage an account there, and we are appreciative of his many years of service to Averett. April Whitsett ([email protected]) is now the housekeeping manager for Averett. She is working to re-organize cleaning schedules and tasks for her team, and is carefully defining where her folks are supposed to be all throughout the day. In order to help her get the campus, as a whole, cleaned on a regular basis, we will have to request that we curtail individual requests to housekeepers as you see them on campus. When this happens, you may be requested to contact April to discuss your needs. Please accommodate this – again, to help her clean campus as a whole. If you have a specific need for an upcoming event, or if you identify an area that appears to have been missed on a regular schedule, please do put in a work order in the SchoolDude system. This will help us track these and allow April to make corrections, as needed.

Also, to create efficiencies across campus and to make it easier to ensure we never run out of supplies, the Budd Group has been working with a new supplier to install all new soap, toilet paper and paper towel dispensers throughout campus. If you find your restroom completely out of supplies, please let Aaron Howell, Mike Fisher or April Whitsett know and we’ll be sure to get transition supplies to the space. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we go through this switchover.

For any housekeeping or facilities questions or concerns, contact Aaron Howell at [email protected].

Cougar Cares Program

The Cougar Cares Program provides students with the basic necessities to help them succeed inside and outside the classroom. Select services are given to students who meet specific criteria.

Services include medical help, educational resources, food assistance, emergency housing, and access to personal items, such as toiletries and professional clothing. The Foundation Student Resources Center (FSRC), which is located behind the CCECC, houses a quality selection of professional clothing, toiletries, and emergency food items for Averett students in need. The FSRC is open to students Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Students can access these resources by visiting the CCECC.

For more information about the Cougar Cares Program, please email [email protected]. All requests and inquiries are confidential.

Counseling Center Move

The Counseling Center has moved down the hall to offices 412, 413 and 414 on the fourth floor of the Student Center. The space includes offices for counselors, a refurbished waiting room and is partitioned off to protect the privacy of students.

All counseling services are FREE for students. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other times may vary by appointments. To make an appointment with a counselor, please stop by the new space or email [email protected] or [email protected].

The Pentegra Email is Legitimate!

Pentegra Retirement Services is the group hired by the Council of Independent Colleges (CICV) as the entity responsible for all things compliance; i.e., overseeing the administration of the 403(b) retirement plan (submitting government required reporting, sending participant notices, performing non-discrimination testing, etc.).

Millennium Advisory Services, Inc. will continue to be the financial advisory component also contracted by CICV. TIAA will continue to serve as the plan’s recordkeeper.

The email attachment you received last week includes a number of resources for Averett Plan participants, such as a Contact Information Sheet, listed here. Information on joining the plan, guidelines and instructions, a payroll deduction form and other pertinent information is included in the packet of information, as well. If you have questions concerning the new hire packets, contact Kathie Tune at [email protected] or (434) 791-7106.
