QUESTION: Why did you choose Averett University’s GPS program?

ANSWER: “I chose Averett’s Graduate & Professional Studies Program for several reasons. The first reason is I can still work and earn a living, but also go to school at the same time. I can take classes online or have face-to-face classes. Also, when I went online to see what was offered and signed up for some information about the program, I received a telephone call. The call was very pleasant and informative.”

Office 365 Email Migration

For those who have not been migrated to the Office 365 email system, over the next three days (Aug 8, 9 and 10), we will be completing our migration of all email accounts to Office 365. This afternoon, we will begin migrating the non-critical email accounts, (essentially, accounts that do not have an associated voicemail mailbox), then on Thursday and Friday will see the rest of the accounts migrated. If your mailbox has not been migrated, you should have received an email yesterday letting you know which day your account will be migrated. Restoring voicemail will take place the following morning.

Please reference the documentation attached in each email for further details. In addition, as mentioned in the emails, Stanford University has a wonderful site dedicated to the configuration for email clients that have been migrated to Office 365. You may access this site at https://uit.stanford.edu/service/office365/configure. You do not have to have a Stanford University account to use this page, and you do not have to log into that page. Wherever you see “Stanford.edu”, just substitute averett.edu.

To those who have been migrated, I sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding through a migration that would be considered “rough,” to put it mildly. I would also like to give a “shout out” to my team, who have performed brilliantly through all of this mess; I am truly blessed to have them. For questions or concerns, contact Kevin Lipscomb at [email protected].

New Online System for Maintenance Requests

Associated with our housekeeping transition, we’ve switched to a new software system for submitting Maintenance Fixit requests.

First, use the same link from the Averett website, either from the Faculty/Staff rab or from the Intranet. When you click the link, you’ll see a Google login appear. To log in, put in your username and then “@aumail.averett.edu” and submit. Next it will request your password – your regular Averett system login password should work here.

Next you should see the maintenance request form pop up. This is very similar to the prior form, but with a few enhancements. Follow the steps and be sure select a type of request. In step four, describe the issue with some detail so the team can best be prepared to help. Then submit; if a submittal password is requested, use “Averett.”

This new system will increase Facilities Services’ effectiveness even more and the system will give requestors more, and more frequent, feedback as to the status of your request. If you run into errors trying to log in for the first time, please contact IT.
