Carrington Academic CenterAverett University recently opened the Carrington Academic Center on North Campus. The center, located in the Grant Center, provides an academic resource and study area for all Averett students.

The Carrington Academic Center houses five desktop computers, 15 hard-lined connections for laptops, 30 desks, a WEPA printing station and a phone charging station. The center will be open weekdays during the fall and spring semesters from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is closed on weekends.

“The Carrington Academic Center is a wonderful addition to North Campus and represents Averett’s vision for academic success,” Averett Director of Athletics Meg Stevens said. “The center gives all students a location to study in between classes, and for our student-athletes, it gives them a place to focus on academics before or after practice.”

The Carrington Academic Center project came to fruition from the Averett 2020 strategic plan. This space was made possible through a generous donation from The Alexander Berkeley Carrington, Jr., and Ruth Simpson Carrington Charitable Trust.
