Averett Set to Welcome Prospective Students for Private College Week

Posted on July 14th, 2015 by Emily Tomlinson

Averett University is one of 24 private colleges and universities statewide that will welcome prospective students during Virginia’s Private College Week, July 27-August 1. Students who visit at least three of Virginia’s private colleges during the week will receive three application fee waivers. These waivers may be used to apply to any three private colleges or universities for free.

“Visiting campuses in person is one of the most important steps in the college search process,” explains Robert Lambeth, President of CICV. “I encourage parents to explore which college will be the best fit for their son or daughter, and I want to reassure them that a quality education at a Virginia private college is affordable and within reach.”

Averett will hold two open house programs a day, July 27-August 1, for prospective students and their families — one session at 9 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. There will only be one session on Saturday, August 1, and that will be held at 9 a.m. All sessions begin with registration in the multipurpose room of the Student Center, which is located on the corner of Woodland Drive and Townes Street on Averett’s Main Campus in historic Danville, Va. During the visits, students and their families will tour the campus and learn about Averett’s academic and extracurricular offerings as well as receive information about scholarships and admissions procedures.

For more information contact Averett’s Admissions Office at (434) 791-6880 or email Christine Thompson, campus guest coordinator, at [email protected].
