Marcus HeadshotAverett University’s School of Nursing is hosting a special inspirational speaker on campus Thursday, Feb.16.

After being blinded and severely injured by a drunk driver, Marcus Engel overcame unimaginable obstacles to reclaim his life. This dramatic story of survival will inspire health care professionals to reignite their passion for providing excellent patient care and give others, if ever injured, the fighting spirit to ‘take back’ their life.

Engel will speak three times throughout the day, 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m., or 7 p.m. at the University’s David S. Blount Chapel in Frith Hall, 160 Mountain View Ave. Contact Pam Giles at pgiles@averett.edu or Debbie Pike at dpike@averett.edu with any questions. The event is free but attendees should register here: https://www.averett.edu/marcusengel/.
