Recently, Averett University revealed its new logo. It features both a vertical and horizontal format, which allows for greater flexibility in usage. While the athletics department has updated its logo in the last few years, this is the first time the university as a whole has refreshed its logo in nearly two decades.

“We have looked at possible designs for a new logo for more than a year and are pleased with what we have come up with,” said Averett Vice President Buddy Rawley. “It was important to us to pay homage to the university’s history and one of the most recognizable features on campus – the columns of Main Hall. At the same time we wanted a newer and more modern look.”

Averett’s new logo is currently being phased in, and will continue over the next few months with a projected deadline of July 1 for all university letterhead, marketing materials, publications, etc. Over the last few years, the university has moved to a blue that is closer to navy blue than royal blue and this logo features the new color prominently.
