Averett University is pleased to announce it has been recognized by Masters-in-Accounting.org as having one of the 50 Most Affordable Online Master’s in Accounting Programs in the U.S. — Averett ranked 32nd. Editors selected the 50 most affordable accredited programs based on cost per year as reported by National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator database.
Editors at Masters-in-Accounting.org noted that “offering a highly flexible combination of on-campus and online coursework, Averett University allows students to customize their educational experience to get the most out of the program.”
This ranking was constructed by first acquiring a list of all the online master’s degrees in accounting within the United States. The editors used comprehensive search tools on College Navigator combined with its own Google searches to find and verify all qualifying programs. They also checked to ensure that all the programs considered are truly online; in other words “hybrid” degrees and those that require regular campus visits for classes were not eligible.
Finally, the qualifying schools’ tuition information was collected from College Navigator and ranked according to affordability. Editors also considered schools’ additional fees in these calculations, although in most cases these costs are minor compared to the price of tuition. As such, tuition and fees are listed as a single number in the ranking. When ranking public schools, their in-state and out-of-state tuition rates were averaged (fees are the same regardless of residency) in order to place them appropriately. However, when writing the descriptions both rates were listed so prospective students can more accurately determine what they will need to pay.
