With record attendance of hopeful future pilots, Averett University hosted its annual Aviation Day on March 15. Twenty prospective aviation students and their families heard from University leadership, Averett’s Aeronautics faculty and staff and almost 20 alumni who work in the industry.

The annual, day-long event includes presentations, breakout sessions, tours and a job/networking fair, where representatives from four airlines – PSA Airlines, Piedmont Airlines, ExpressJet Airlines and Dynamic Aviation – were on hand to discuss job potential.

Alumni came from a broad range of aviation career paths, including pilots with major and regional airlines, corporate pilots and military pilots, to connect with current and future students and share their experiences and connections. They represented American Airlines, Bank of America, Clay Lacy Aviation, Delta Air Lines, Dynamic Aviation, ExpressJet Airlines, JetBlue, Piedmont Airlines, PSA Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Parcel Service (UPS) and the United States Coast Guard.
