Challenge Yourself to #serve365

Serve 365The Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness (CCECC) at Averett University is launching a new online platform, in partnership with the Dan River Nonprofit Network, to help you serve your community 365 days a year.

The CCECC was created to shift the culture in the Dan River Region, to one where service is the norm. The CCECC acts as the regional hub for volunteerism and is now challenging you to serve 365, using the hashtag #serve365.

The new online platform allows for any organization, church or business to sign up and list events for which they need volunteers. The platform then allows individuals to login and look for places to volunteer. Whether your civic club wants to volunteer with a community organization, you are looking for service projects to accrue volunteer hours for a scholarship, or you and your friends and family just want to give back to your community, every resident in Caswell County, the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County can visit the site to explore volunteer opportunities in the region.

Visit http://www.serve365.org/ to start creating an impact in the community!

Look for three categories:

Needs – needs in our community that can be addressed through volunteerism.

Events – events hosted by community organizations in which you and your family can participate.

Agencies – agencies that need your help, a tool which will help a lot if you don’t know where to start because it allows you to scroll through and choose what best suits you.
