During the 2015 United States Dressage Federation/Intercollegiate Dressage Association’s (IDA) National Competition April 24-26, two equestrian studies students participated in the IDA National Quiz Challenge. Amanda Arnold was the overall winner of the Quiz Challenge, scoring 100 percent on both the qualifying round and the championship round in the First Level Division of the competition. She was the only student to score 100 percent in both rounds. As the grade prize winner she received a four-week internship at Hilltop Farm, Inc. in Colora, Md. Also a winner in the Quiz Challenge was Jessica Stipic, who won at the Introductory level.

The competition allowed participants to compete in two rounds of events. The first round took place online through USDF’s eTRAK, and focused on classical dressage theory related to the rider’s seat, position and aids. The six highest scoring individuals from the first round, in each of the four categories (Introductory, Lower Training, Upper Training and First Level) competed in the finals at Nationals, which were held at Otterbein University’s Austen E. Knowlton Center for Equine Science in Westerville, Ohio.
