Position Description

The Averett University School of Nursing invites applications for Clinical and Assessment Coordinator.

Qualifications

Masters degree in nursing and RN licensure in Virginia required. Doctoral preparation and teaching experience in BSN and graduate nursing programs preferred. Position’s rank and tenure-track will be commensurate with degree and experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for acquiring, contracting, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating clinical sites for BSN and RNBSN students. Arrange the clinical schedule and all orientations at the facilities as needed. Clinical sites may be located within or outside the state of Virginia.

Will ensure that faculty, clinical instructors and preceptors meet the credentialing requirements of assigned facilities, and that all required paperwork for students and faculty is submitted to the clinical facilities within required time frames. Will coordinate an orientation program for all new clinical faculty and preceptors to ensure that the program’s outcomes are being met. Will make regular visits to clinical agencies as needed, documenting the findings of each visit. In emergent situations will collaborate with the BSN Coordinator to help arrange substitute clinical coverage and experiences for students.

Responsible for implementing and coordinating the School of Nursing Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP). Includes review and revision of SEP, collection and analysis of data, and record-keeping. Teaches in the School of Nursing as determined by the Dean.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand; move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis; sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
