Affordable Colleges Foundation, a leading resource for online learning and college affordability information, has ranked Averett University 12th in the U.S. among the Best Online Christian Colleges for 2015. The full rankings can be found here: http://www.affordablecollegesonline.org/online-colleges/christian-colleges/

Affordable Colleges Foundation’s data analysts and higher education experts developed a proprietary scoring system to rank faith-based colleges using various cost, quality and student support metrics, including:

• The number of online programs available
• Online tuition costs
• Student-faculty ratio
• 6-year graduation rate
• Percentage of students receiving financial aid
• Academic and career counseling services
• Placement services for graduates

All colleges on the list must also have a clear and active religious affiliation, and offer full online programs at the bachelor’s degree level.

“The faith-based colleges on our list are making online learning a clear priority,” said Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Foundation. “Each of these Christian colleges incorporates innovative technologies to help students pursue their higher education, while providing a strong connection to spirituality.”

According to the Department of Education, more than 900 faith-based institutions have received regional or national accreditation, meaning Christ-centered students have an abundance of high-quality choices when it comes to pursuing their higher education.

“Hundreds of Christian institutions can be found throughout the United States. There’s definitely history there,” said Schuessler. “We’re excited to highlight the ones expanding their programs to include hybrid or fully-online options.”
