logoAverett University is one of 24 private colleges and universities statewide that will welcome prospective students July 25-30 during Virginia’s Private College Week. The university will hold two open house programs a day for prospective students and their families — 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. There will only be one session on Saturday, July 30, and that will be held at 9 a.m. All sessions will begin with registration in Blount Chapel, which is located in the breezeway of Frith Hall. Interested attendees should register online.

During their visit, students and their families will tour the campus and learn about Averett’s academic and extracurricular offerings as well as receive information about scholarships and admissions procedures. Students interested in touring the Equestrian Center should register for a 2 p.m. session, and those interested in touring the North Campus or the School of Nursing should plan to visit Monday through Friday.

Students who visit at least three of Virginia’s private colleges during the week will receive three application fee waivers and become eligible to participate in a drawing for a $500 Amazon gift card. These waivers may be used to apply to any three private colleges or universities for free.
