This fall, Averett is excited to welcome Itayetzi Zafra Méndez of Oaxaca, Mexico, a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant in Spanish. Méndez will tutor Spanish students and conduct monthly conversations groups that will be open to all interested students with at least a basic knowledge of Spanish. In addition to her work with Averett students, she will offer several presentations on Mexican culture and history to the University and local community.
