What is one interesting fact about you that people don’t know?

I love flowers and gardening.  My parents used to make me help them around the yard when I was growing up, and it stuck with me.  In high school, I took horticulture classes, and I’ve worked at a small landscaping nursery.

What is one thing you might not know about Averett but need to know?

The success rates of many of our programs.  Education/Mathematics/Biology/Equestrian/Aviation many of these programs have high rates of graduates obtaining jobs in their field or going to graduate school once they leave AU.

What is one piece of advice you would have for a student choosing Averett?

Expose yourself to the people, different courses, and activities we have to offer.  Study Abroad.  Go to games.  Take an art class.  Join an interesting group.  Meet staff members.  Go to a play.  Volunteer. Get a job.  You never know where these experiences will lead you.
