The Study Abroad Fair in Retrospect

by Victoria Rackliff

SAFairPhoto_1Averett University and the Study Abroad Office hosted its fourth annual Study Abroad Fair in the Multipurpose Room at the Student Center on Tuesday Sept. 22; from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Study Abroad Director, Dr. Catherine Clark, organized the event, and Café Bon Appétit set up a buffet of free snacks, including coffee, fruit, and pastries for attendees.

The students and faculty who participated were able to move in and out of the fair as they looked at a multitude of brochures and asked questions of the representatives from the various study abroad agencies that are affiliated with Averett.
Along with those representatives were study abroad alumni, Angelica Orlikowski and Allyson Payne, sharing their adventures from their semester in Dublin, Ireland. “Angelica and I had the opportunity to talk to students interested in studying abroad and got to share our amazing experience with them,” Payne said. “It’s always nice to share an amazing time in my life with someone.”

Averett’s French Club was also on hand, enticing potential recruits with homemade beignets while members worked on a travel puzzle and French poetry. President of the French Club, Kayla Sanon, said that she thought that the fair went well and that the content was wonderful.
