Aviation (Aerospace Management)

Flight Education Program Certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shows how the provider meets the academic and regulatory requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations. The criteria approved by the FAA include Training Course Outlines (TCO) which detail, course and curriculum content and objectives along with completion standards. The TCO’s also include training facilities, training equipment, and instructor qualifications. Once the standards have been met as approved by the FAA students are eligible to take the FAA Practical Exam with the certification set forth in the Airmen Certification Standards. If the student passes the exam they are then certified as a pilot by the FAA. Flight fees are assessed at hourly rates and are reviewed for possible adjustment at least annually. To make flight training more accessible, flight fees are charged to the student by Averett, enabling the student to apply for grants and loans on this significant portion of their program expenses. As an FAA 141, school we are also certified to accept Veteran’s benefits toward flight training.

Averett University’s Bachelor of Science Aviation (Aerospace) Management with Concentrations in Flight Operations and Aviation Criminal Justice are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aviation Science under 14 CFR Part 141.

The program meets the requirements and qualifies graduates to sit for licensure exam in all 50 states.
