The Enactus chapter of Averett University recently celebrated a successful fundraising effort to give children in third-world countries access to cleaner, healthier drinking water. The money the Averett students raised (more than $400) will help fund an innovative system called Lifestraw. Lifestraw is a water purification system that takes unclean water and turns it into water that is safe to drink. One Lifestraw can provide clean water for a year.
Enactus is an international community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. Danville After Hours Rotary made a generous donation to the cause and Averett’s Enactus chapter members raised the balance of the money with on-campus fundraisers.
