Launch Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness

Career Development

Career development is a process that starts day one of your freshman year! The CCECC collaborates with community partners, alumni, and local business representatives to provide leadership and direction for comprehensive career planning to Averett University students and alumni. Through dynamic programming, these initiatives provide support, resources, counseling, and networking opportunities to develop students as young professionals.

Our staff is here to counsel you on an individual or group basis concerning career planning and preparedness. Whether you are looking for an internship, employment, or graduate school options, Career Development can help. Located in the Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness, we offer you:

  • Career Exploration
  • Assistance with résumés, cover letters and portfolios
  • Career assessment services, which help you identify your strengths and interests
  • Workshops and events related to career development
  • A national network of job and internship opportunities
  • Interviewing and professional etiquette training
  • Networking events throughout the year, including job fairs.
