Led by Averett University, Engaged Employers encourages and allows employees of participating businesses and organizations to dedicate one full day a year to serving our community. Engaged Employers are committed to creating a culture of service across the Dan River Region.

The Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness (CCECC) at Averett University is here to support the region’s Engaged Employers by helping to identify service projects that accommodate an individual, a pair, or a whole department (think team building!). Engaged Employers also have access to Averett’s new volunteerism software, Get Connected. With Get Connected, employees can identify community needs and projects that match their interests and availability. An introduction to Get Connected is available to all Engaged Employers.

The inaugural group of Engaged Employers includes the following businesses and organizations:

  • American National Bank
  • Averett University
