Meet Jennifer Owen, a student pursuing her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision degree who is expected to graduate in 2019.

QUESTION: What is your motivation for obtaining your degree?

ANSWER: “When my daughters were in elementary school, which was about 12 years ago, I decided I wanted to help children be as successful as possible in school. I’ve had many roles in our school system since then, from PTA resident to substitute teacher, and now special education teacher. Every transition was made with the idea that I could be more effective in my new role. Pursuing this Master of Education in Administration and Supervision degree will be the next role in my quest for having the most influence on student outcomes.”

Staff Meeting and PC Cookout

The June staff meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at 11:15 a.m. before the President’s Council Cookout.

Following the staff meeting, lunch will be provided courtesy of President’s Council on the Student Center lawn from noon-1 p.m. Mark your calendar and join us for some good food and great company!

Averett 2020 Update

The Strategic Growth Theme Team is focused on diversifying enrollment growth. The team is continually exploring new pipelines to be added to Averett’s program offerings. We are looking forward to the fall 2018 program launches of the Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics, and the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership.

While we began our esports program this past year, we are looking forward to a full rollout this fall 2018, and we are in the process of interviewing for the position of esports head coach/manager. Looking toward the future, there are multiple other pipelines in the works, both curricular and co-curricular, with planned launches in 2019, 2020 and beyond. Stay tuned!
