Aviation_openhouseProspective students and current Averett students will have the opportunity to hear from pilots during an Aviation Open House on Friday, November 6. Averett alumni who are also members of Pi Kappa Phi Zeta Xi Chapter will be in attendance to share about their decades of experience in the aviation field.

Students will have the opportunity to hear from professional pilots and Pi Kappa Phi alumni who represent a range of companies and positions in the field including military, civilian and corporate. Alumni will answer questions concerning the job market, share interview tips and talk about how to use connections to land a job.

To start the day, Travis Williams ’00, chief flight instructor, will welcome prospective students to Averett. They will then have an opportunity to tour campus (including the aircraft and simulator) and spend the day with current aviation students as well as alumni pilots learning about the program. In the afternoon alumni will host a presentation and the day will end with a cookout at the Flight Center.

This prestigious event draws high caliber prospective students and exposes them to the post-college benefits of the Pi Kappa Phi brotherhood. Zeta Xi alumni have worked with Averett administration to establish this event as a highly visible and beneficial opportunity.
