Averett’s Intercollegiate Dressage Association Team Wins at Saint Andrews

On Saturday, Nov. 22, Averett University’s IDA (Intercollegiate Dressage Association) team A — which is comprised of Micah Andrews, Hannah Walters, Sydney Owen and Jessica Stipic — took home the Champion spot at Saint Andrews University against other Region One competitors. Along with the high-point team win, Averett riders Hannah Walters and Micah Andrews won the individual high point and reserve high point ribbons, respectively.

For team A, Andrews won her first level class. In upper training level, Walters had a high score, which allowed her to win the division. Owen, in lower training, placed fifth. Lastly, Stipic scored placed second in intro.

For team B, Amanda Arnold had a strong ride, placing fourth in the first level division. In upper level, Scnobia Stewart also placed fourth. Kathleen Nettnin had a tough ride, placing eighth. Adeline Bova also placed eighth. Bre Casey was able to ride a lower training test individually and placed sixth.

For the Dressage Seat Equitation classes, Averett riders Andrews, Walters, Stewart, Bova, Casey, and freshman Kristen Kelley swept the competition, taking home blues in each of their classes.

Averett took home its third high point team Champion ribbon of the semester, with NC State and Saint Andrews trailing.
