Averett University is pleased to announce that U.S. Veterans Magazine has recognized the university as part of its 2015 Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools. The magazine polled hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies for this year’s Best of the Best evaluations.

This is the second time this month the university has been recognized for its work with veterans and the military. Earlier, BestColleges.com recognized Averett as one of America’s most military-friendly colleges for 2015.

Veterans and current members of the military (both active and reserve) have a number of options available to them through Averett. The university offers a military discount for active duty military and it participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program for veterans as well as other GI Bill® Chapters. Many veterans in the Post-9/11 GI Bill® program also transfer entitlement to their spouse or children. In addition, Averett offers financial aid to those who are eligible. Complete information about military options can be found at www.gibill.va.gov.

The goal of U.S. Veterans Magazine is to open up employment, business and supplier opportunities within the federal government and corporate America for veterans, transitioning service members, disabled veterans, spouses and veteran business owners. The annual review is an evaluation of the nation’s employers, initiatives, government agencies and education institutions. These nonbiased studies are valuable resources for jobseekers, business owners, students, consumers, senior management, business associations, employment agencies and consumer groups.
