Education Degree Programs

Meet Our Education Faculty

Prepare to influence the next generation of American citizens – become a teacher. Averett University offers an Education degree program designed to produce elementary and secondary school teachers who provide meaningful educational experiences and model lifelong learning practices to young people. Our programs are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and focus on preparing students for licensure in Virginia public schools, though students who plan to teach in other states are more than welcome to study with us.

We consistently place close to 100% of our graduates into teaching positions each year. This is due to the comprehensive nature of our theoretical courses and our student teaching relationships. Averett has affiliations with eight local school districts, ensuring that our students work with veteran teachers who will help them develop an effective instructional style.
