School of Nursing at Averett
A Message from the Dean
This is an exciting time to be a nurse, and especially here at Averett University. If you become a member of the select group of students admitted into Averett’s nursing program, you will embark on a rewarding journey.
We have a mission to prepare outstanding baccalaureate nurses who will excel at nursing care and leadership. Our BSN degree gives you a solid foundation for current practice, and for your master’s degree and beyond. We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and provide the personal touch in a collegial environment to aid in your learning.
Our faculty will help you acquire the skills and knowledge needed for evidence-based practice in a variety of settings. Our small faculty to student ratio allows us to provide personalized attention for each learner – whether online or in the classroom.
Our state of the art simulation lab allows our traditional students to practice physical skills and communication skills in a realistic environment.
Our direct and indirect patient care experiences take our RNBSN students’ learning to the next level as they learn to manage patient care.
Come and see what it means to be part of a great group of people dedicated to making the world a healthier place…one person at a time. Come and be part of Averett University’s School of Nursing!
Pamela Giles, PhD – Dean
