The baccalaureate nursing program at Averett University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

The masters nursing program at Averett University received initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

Virginia Board of Nursing (VBON)
The Virginia Board of Nursing has granted full program approval for the traditional Baccalaureate Degree Registered Nurse Program located in Danville, VA.

The Virginia Board of Nursing has granted initial approval for the Accelerated Baccalaureate Degree Registered Nurse Program located in Norfolk, Virginia.

Upon successful completion of the BSN program or the ABSN program, the graduate may submit an application for licensure to the board of nursing where they wish to be licensed/registered. For further information, please review the State Licensure Requirements section below.

The State of Virginia professional nursing license (RN/Registered Nurse) is granted through the Board of Nursing at the following location:

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

Upon successful completion of the MSN degree program and/or the ENP post-masters certificate, the graduate may submit an application to take the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam and/or the Emergency Nurse Practitioner certification exam.

American Nurses Credentialing Center

Upon successful completion of the MSN degree program, the graduate may submit an application to take the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam.  More information is located here.
